"Working Rockland"
In recent years, Rockland Maine has transitioned from a working
fishing village to a more upscale tourist destination. In general that is a
good thing; I don't think anyone misses the stench of the old fish factory.
However, on the North side of town, it still has the look of a working village.
That is where the ferries run to Northhaven and Vinalhaven and the
fishing boats are docked.
This view, looking North from The Landings Restaurant, caught my
eye for the complexity of the scene. It seemed a perfect subject for
a Pen & Ink drawing. This is the result.
